All topics offered as live webinars, and also available as on-site school leader workshops.
Australian school leaders support staff, students, families in often challenging contexts. Critical incidents, complex student needs and ongoing community vulnerabilities combine to present school leaders with a working environment that is constant and at times overwhelming.
This masterclass supports school leaders to understand how such work may impact on their own wellbeing and mental health. Strategies that can assist in supporting, protecting and promoting school leader mental health in and outside the workplace will also be discussed.
School leaders will learn about:
Schools are communities for students and families, and for staff too. Learning how to best support every staff member and the school to learn and take shared responsibility for staff wellbeing and mental health is an exciting (and sometimes daunting!) task.
Thrive at Work can help – a simple, evidence based framework from Curtin University. This masterclass supports school leaders to learn about the Thrive At Work model, and how it can be easily implemented in their school to enhance the protection and promotion of staff mental health.
School leaders will learn about:
Professional and ethical support for leaders to reflect on the complexities of the school leadership role. Drawing on the occupational wellbeing evidence base, these sessions support reflection and reflexivity and offer a safe harbour for leaders to wonder and discern next steps at work and for personal wellbeing.
